Whole Bream

Gilthead bream is a largely solitary fish that is commonly found in the Mediterranean Sea but can sometimes be caught in the English Channel.

They are often considered the tastiest of the bream varieties and are highly prized for their mild, sweet flavour and soft flesh that’s similar to that of the sea bass.

How to Cook

Gilt Head Bream requires very little adding to it to be utterly delicious.

However, it’s versatile flavour does work well with ingredients from a wide range of cuisines.

We love to serve whole gilthead bream baked Mediterranean-style with lemon, garlic, rosemary, and a few glugs of good olive oil.

What to Drink

If using herbs such as rosemary, oregano, and parsley in your gilt head bream dish, we recommend giving a versatile and fruity Alsace Pinot Blanc a try.
