Our fresh fish pie mixture contains prime white fish, trout, and salmon and is a convenient way of sourcing your ingredients for a fishy comfort food classic that makes a great alternative to a Sunday roast.
How to Cook
To make your fish pie, poach your fish pie mixture in bay-infused milk while you boil and mash the potatoes for your topping. Once your fish is cooked use a slotted spoon to remove it from the milk and set aside but keep the milk in the pan. You can then use this to make a creamy white sauce by adding flour and simmering until it’s nice and thick. Once you have your sauce, add your fish back into the pan along with some peas and fresh parsley. Transfer this to an oven-proof dish and top with your mash. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until your pie has developed a nice crispy top and enjoy.
What to Drink
Smooth, dry white wines such as a lightly oaked or unoaked Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Soave or Gavi will work very well with the creaminess of your fish pie sauce.
