About
Price per kilo.
Tilapia is a very common fish that mainly inhabits freshwater environments such as streams, ponds, rivers and lakes.
Tilapia were an important fish in Ancient Egyptian culture and was given its own hieroglyph which is believed to symbolise rebirth in Egyptian art.
It has white, medium-firm, flaky texture when cooked and a very mild flavour which has made it popular among those who aren’t otherwise big fans of fish.
How to Cook
One of the great things about tilapia’s mild flavour is that it pairs with a huge variety of flavours from around the world without much quarrel.
It works particularly well with Indian spices. Having thawed your frozen tilapia, we recommend marinading it first in a paste of ginger, garlic, chilli and turmeric, grilling and then serving with a rich curry sauce.
What to Drink
Mild, flaky fish like tilapia sing when paired with a fruity and acidic Sauvignon Blanc.
