Hake Portion
Now Pack Of Two Hake Portions
About
Hake has a slightly milder taste than its close relative Cod. In fact, it’s often considered the superior fish.
Its flesh is soft when raw but becomes firm and meaty when cooked.
This luxurious fish often goes by the name ling or whiting in the US. But is not to be confused with what we refer to as whiting in the UK.
How to Cook
Bold, good-for-the-soul Spanish flavours are a match made in heaven for hake.
Prepare a hearty stew of onions, garlic, potatoes, chorizo, and a generous amount of paprika in a pan. Place hake fillets on top of the stew for the final 8-10 minutes of cooking time, cover, and simmer until the hake is cooked through.
What to Drink
Medium-bodied and aromatic white wines like Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blancs from New Zealand and California pair extremely well with hake.
But if playing with Spanish flavours, a White Rioja could well be your best bet.
