Spider Crab Claws
About
Spider crabs look like something out of H.G. Wells’ War of The Worlds, which is perhaps why they are often overlooked in favour of the standard brown crab.
But don’t be put off by their menacing appearance.
These large crustaceans are highly prized for their deliciously sweet meat.
Lucky for us, spider crab is plentiful, sustainable, and commonly found in British waters.
How to Cook
Our spider crab claws need very little adding to them to make a spectacular dinner party centerpiece.
All you need is a few crab-picking tools, a little bit of skill, and perhaps a finger bowl for when things get messy.
What to Drink
Crab loves full-bodied white wines such as Chardonnay or Pinot Gris.
Chablis or a White Burgundy are also experts at bringing out crab meat’s delicate flavour.
